Change DNS (Nameserver) Record Tutorial

Step 1
1. From the home page select "Account and Domain Management".

Step 2
2. Click "Change DNS (Nameserver) Record".

Step 3
3. To change the DNS (Nameserver) please visit our Account and Domain Management section and log in using the username and password associated with the domain. If you successfully log into the account, you will see your domains that are associated with that username. If you do not successfully log in, you will be prompted to log in again, this means that you used either the wrong username or password (remember both are case and space sensitive). If you log in and do not see any domains, that means that you successfully log in but that account does not have any domains associated with it (go to Forgot Password/GKG Username to retieve this information).

Once you have logged in, select the domain that you wish to modify (if you only have one, it will already be selected). Select the "change" button in the upper right-hand corner of the Nameserver box. You will see the current nameservers and should replace them with the new nameservers. The nameservers that you use MUST be registered as nameservers with the registry. If they are not, our system will not accept them. Our system will not accept IP #'s, it requires the actual host name (such as ns1.domain.com).

Step 4
4. Select the domain that you wish to alter.

Step 5
5. Click on the "Change" button in the upper right hand corner of the Name Servers box.

Step 6
6.a. Replace the current DNS with the new DNS. The nameservers that you use MUST be registered as nameservers, if they are not, our system will not accept them. Our system will not accept IP #'s, it requires DNS (such as ns1.domain.com).

b.
Click "Continue".

Step 7
7. Check your information to make sure everything was entered correctly.

Step 8
8. Done! The DNS information has been changed!
