How Does the Transfer Work?
- The Transfer Contact fills out the Automated Transfer Request Form.
- The then-current Domain contacts (as listed on the then current whois database)
will be sent an email requesting authorization of the transfer.
- Transfer Approved by Domain Contact - Each contact
will be sent an email - the first response will be used to authorize or
reject the transfer. If this authorization is granted, the transfer will
be initiated with the Registry.
- Transfer Denied by Contact - If authorization
is denied by the Domain contact, the transfer will not be initiated.
- Be aware of the requirements put into place by the losing Registrar for
transfers as allowed by ICANN (www.icann.org). The losing Registrar may decline a transfer if their requirements
are not completed. Many reistrars now place domains on lock to prevent unauthorized transfers. This lock must be removed in order for the transfer to succeed.
- Upon completion of the transfer, an email will be sent to the contacts and
the transfer can be viewed by logging into their account at https://www.gkg.net/protected/transfer/view
