Setting up Email in Outlook 2002 Tutorial
Step 1
a.You will need your email server settings to set up your email program. Please click here and enter your email address. Print or write down the information that is displayed for use during this walkthrough.
Step 2
a.Open Outlook Express.
Step 3
a.From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.
Note: If you have never configured, or used, your Outlook Express email program, at this point the Internet Connection Wizard will open automatically. In such a situation, go directly to step 5.
Step 4
a.Click the Add button and choose Mail.
Step 5
a.In the Display name field, type your full name.
Step 6
a.Click the Next button.
Step 7
a.In the E-mail address field, type your full email address (e.g., johndoe@gkg.net).
Step 8
a.Click the Next button.
Step 9
a.Click the down arrow on the My incoming mail is a ____ server drop-down list and choose POP3.
Step 10
a.In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server field, type your Incoming mail server (POP) (as determined during step 1 of this walkthrough; if you have not followed this step, please click here ).
Step 11
a.In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type in your SMTP (as determined in Step 1 of this walkthrough; if you have not followed this step, please click here ).
Step 12
a.Click the Next button.
Step 13
a.In the Account name field, type your account name.
Step 14
a.In the Password field, type your email password.
Step 15
a.Check the box next to Remember password if you wish to save your password.
Step 16
a.Click the Next button.
Step 17
a.Click the Finish button.
Step 18
a.Double-click your account in the Mail Accounts list.
Step 19
a.Click on the Servers tab.
Step 20
a.Check the box next to My server requires authentication.
Step 21
a.Click the Settings button.
Step 22
a.Select Log on using.
Step 23
a.In the Account Name field, type your account name.
Step 24
a.In the Password field, type your password.
Step 25
a.Check the box next to Remember password.
Step 26
a.Click the OK button.
Step 27
a.Click the OK button.
